Is Yap Manta Ray Cleaning Stations happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~December. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

In the channels of Yap, reef manta rays come to coral outcrops known as cleaning stations, where small wrasses pick parasites and dead skin from their gills and bodies.

A manta will hover almost motionless above the coral, mouth open and gills flared, while the cleaners work — a slow, deliberate behavior that lets divers watch from a respectful distance for long stretches.

Yap is one of the most dependable manta destinations in the world because the same channels are used year after year, and the rays shift between them with the season: in the cooler months they gather in Mi'l Channel for mating processions, and in the warmer months they favor Goofnuw Channel's 'Valley of the Rays.' Mantas are present year-round, but the winter mating season concentrates the largest numbers.

These are wild animals on a reef, so any single dive depends on conditions and luck, even where they are reliable.
