Each summer Atlantic puffin chicks leave burrows at night to fledge and are often disoriented by town lights on Heimaey, Vestmannaeyjar.
Local volunteers run organized nightly patrols to collect, rehabilitate, and return pufflings to nesting cliffs, a seasonal community conservation effort.
