Is Skellig Michael Atlantic Puffin Colony happening right now?

As of Jun 19, 2026, 8:54 PM, peak season now, through ~July 15. There is recent confirmation nearby. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

The Skellig Islands (Great Skellig / Skellig Michael and Little Skellig) host one of Ireland’s important Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica) breeding colonies.

Puffins arrive from the open Atlantic to breed on grassy slopes, cliff ledges and in burrows during spring and summer, then depart to sea after the breeding season.
