As of today, out of season, returns ~September. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
Giant lobelia (Lobelia rhynchopetalum) produces tall flowering spikes across the Simien afro-alpine plateaus during and immediately after the main rainy season.
The show is tied to seasonal rains; flowering is most conspicuous through the post-rain dry season, especially October and November, when spikes and inflorescences are fully open.
