Is Simien Gelada Mating Chorus happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~September. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Geladas (Theropithecus gelada) form large multi-level societies on the Ethiopian Highlands.

During the local dry season male calling, group chorus vocalizations, and intensified mating displays become frequent on exposed plateaus in Simien Mountains National Park.

These events are social, audible across valleys, and are strongest when groups aggregate near rich grazing grounds.
