Sakura shrimp (sakura ebi) are tiny, translucent pink shrimp primarily fished from Japan's Suruga Bay - the deepest bay in Japan.

Named for their cherry blossom color, these 4-5cm crustaceans rise from depths of 200-300m at night to feed near the surface.

The Yui-Kanbara fishing cooperative holds exclusive rights to commercial fishing, making this the world's primary source for these prized crustaceans.
