As of today, out of season, returns ~November. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
The Harmattan dust veil is a seasonal atmospheric phenomenon in which dry, dust-laden northeasterly winds originating over the Sahara carry large quantities of mineral dust across the Sahel and Gulf of Guinea.
The result is persistent haze, reduced visibility, degraded air quality, and episodic intense dust storms that can last from a few hours to several days.
