Each autumn Roosevelt elk (Cervus canadensis roosevelti) concentrate in low-elevation meadows and river valleys of the Hoh Rainforest.
Mature bulls become vocal and territorial during the breeding season, producing bugles and wallowing behavior that make them easier to locate at dawn and dusk.
