Is River Wye Ramsons Carpet happening right now?
As of today, out of season, returns ~April. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
Each spring, riverbank woodlands along the River Wye produce broad carpets of ramsons (Allium ursinum), a wild garlic with starry white flowers and a strong garlic scent.
The displays are most extensive on north-facing, damp, ancient-woodland slopes and in riverside meadows across Herefordshire.
