Each spring, riverbank woodlands along the River Wye produce broad carpets of ramsons (Allium ursinum), a wild garlic with starry white flowers and a strong garlic scent.
The displays are most extensive on north-facing, damp, ancient-woodland slopes and in riverside meadows across Herefordshire.
