Is Red Sea Whale Shark Aggregation (Saudi Arabia) happening right now?

As of today, past peak, season runs to ~June 30. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

A predictable spring aggregation of juvenile whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) forms at coastal reefs off the Saudi Red Sea coast, most notably around the fringing reef known as Shi'b Habil near Al-Lith.

Sharks are surface-feeding and/or present in the upper water column during daytime boat and snorkel trips, with highest encounter rates in spring months.
