Is Ras Al Jinz green turtle nesting happening right now?

As of today, peak season now, through ~September 30. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve on Oman's eastern coast is one of the world’s most important nesting sites for green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas).

Turtles come ashore at night to dig nests and deposit clutches of eggs; hatchlings emerge weeks later and make a run to the sea.

Nesting occurs year-round but concentrates in the warmer months.
