Is Pitlochry Salmon Run (Fish Ladder) happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~July. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Every summer and autumn Atlantic salmon travel from the North Sea to spawn in Scottish rivers.

At Pitlochry Dam the fish ladder and visitor facilities allow close daytime viewing of salmon navigating the ladder as they ascend the River Tummel.

Timing and intensity depend on river flow and recent rainfall.
