Is Pinnacles California Condor Fledging Window happening right now?

As of today, in season, building toward peak (~September 15). Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Pinnacles National Park supports a small wild population of California condors that nest in cliff cavities and fissures.

The fledging window is the seasonal period when chicks leave the nest and can be reliably observed flying and practicing landings near nest cliffs and communal roosts.

Timing varies year to year with nesting schedules and weather.
