Each year humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) migrate to the sheltered bays off Nuquí on Colombia's Pacific coast to breed, give birth, and nurse calves.
The shallow, warm waters and protected bays create one of the region's most important mother-calf habitats and one of the best places in the Colombian Pacific to see close maternal behavior and calf nursing.
