Is North York Moors Heather Bloom happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~July. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Each summer, blanket bogs and upland heaths across the North York Moors National Park erupt in purple as Calluna vulgaris (common heather) flowers.

The display creates large contiguous seas of color, visible from ridge viewpoints and valley floors.

Timing and intensity vary with summer weather and land management.
