Is Mon Repos Loggerhead Turtle Nesting and Hatchlings happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~November. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Mon Repos Conservation Park, near Bundaberg, Queensland, is Australia’s most important loggerhead turtle rookery.

From late spring to early autumn, adult females come ashore to nest and, weeks later, hatchlings emerge and crawl to the sea.

Visits are managed by guided, ranger-led tours to protect turtles and their habitat.
