Is Lake Kerkini Dalmatian Pelican Nesting Mega-Colony happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~December. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Each spring Lake Kerkini in northern Greece hosts a mega-colony of Dalmatian Pelicans (Pelecanus crispus).

Hundreds to over a thousand breeding pairs nest on reed and islet colonies in the shallow reservoir, attracting birdwatchers and researchers for concentrated viewing of courtship, nesting, and chick-rearing.
