As of today, out of season, returns ~October. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
Labord's chameleon (Furcifer labordi) in the dry forests around Kirindy exhibits a striking annual pulse: eggs spend 8-9 months in diapause during the dry season, then—triggered by the first heavy rains—large cohorts hatch within a short window.
The event concentrates hatching and early growth into the rainy season, producing a narrow window when hatchlings and rapid juvenile growth are visible in the forest.
