As of today, out of season, returns ~November. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
In western Madagascar's Kirindy forest the fat-tailed dwarf lemur (Cheirogaleus medius) spends the dry season in prolonged torpor inside tree holes, then re-emerges at the start of the wet season.
The annual awakening is tied to the first rains and rising ambient temperatures, and is the best time for nocturnal surveys and guided night walks to see active individuals.
