As of Jun 19, 2026, 8:24 PM, in season, building toward peak (~June 20). Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
Each June, the Kirifuri Plateau near Nikko fills with thousands of Nikko-kisuge (yellow daylilies), creating broad swaths of bright yellow across high-altitude meadows.
The display is seasonal and weather-dependent, lasting roughly three weeks at each elevation as flowers open during daylight hours.
