As of today, past peak, season runs to ~June 30. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
During the dry season, critically endangered Mekong Irrawaddy dolphins (Orcaella brevirostris) concentrate in the Kampi (Anlong Kampi) deep pool north of Kratie, Cambodia.
As water levels drop, dolphins gather in deep pools where they are reliably observed by tourists on licensed community boat trips.
Note: cooperative fishing between dolphins and humans is documented in Myanmar (Irrawaddy River), not at Kampi.
At Kampi the primary activity is dolphin watching and community-based tourism.
