Is Iwokrama Harpy Eagle Nesting happening right now?

As of Jun 19, 2026, 8:54 PM, in season now, through ~December 28. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Harpy Eagles (Harpia harpyja) nest in emergent canopy trees of the Guiana Shield.

In the Iwokrama/Surama area guided visits to monitored nest territories (viewed from established trails, lodges and the Atta/Iwokrama canopy walkway) are arranged when nests are active.

Nest cycles are multi-year and timing varies by pair; when nestlings are present adults are typically visible daily for several months.
