Each summer Skjálfandi Bay off Húsavík fills with feeding whales that follow seasonal shoals of herring and krill.

Humpback whales are the most commonly seen feeders, with minkes, occasional blue and fin whales, and abundant dolphins and porpoises also present during the season.
