Is Holbox Whale Shark Feeding Aggregation happening right now?

As of today, peak season now, through ~August 15. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Each year warm-water currents and dense plankton attract large numbers of Rhincodon typus to the Yucatán shelf.

The result is a predictable, seasonal feeding aggregation near Isla Holbox, Cabo Catoche and nearby waters, where tourist snorkel operations can encounter dozens to hundreds of animals on good days.
