Is Greater Prairie-Chicken Booming Grounds (Kansas) happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~March. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Each spring male greater prairie-chickens gather on traditional leks (booming grounds) and perform an audible booming and stomping courtship display.

Kansas, especially the Flint Hills and nearby mixed-grass prairies, contains many publicly viewable leks and several managed blinds and guided tours for careful, early-morning observation.
