As of today, peak season now, through ~August 31. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
During the Gran Chaco dry season, herd-forming peccary species (primarily white-lipped peccary, Tayassu pecari, and locally the Chacoan peccary, Catagonus wagneri) concentrate at permanent waterholes, river margins and livestock troughs.
These aggregations are driven by shrinking water availability and seasonal food scarcity, producing predictable wildlife-watching opportunities in Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.
