Following reintroductions and natural recovery, blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) form increasingly large, visible herds on the Lake Urema floodplain and adjacent grasslands in Gorongosa National Park.
Herds concentrate as floodwaters recede in the dry season, making the Urema valley a reliable place to see wildebeest and other grazers.
