As of today, past peak, season runs to ~June 30. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
Each year in Belize, Rhincodon typus aggregate at Gladden Spit and adjacent Silk Cayes to feed on massive reef fish spawn tied to lunar cycles.
The aggregations occur during the March-June season and are strongly centered on nights around the full moon, when fish release eggs and whale sharks concentrate inshore.
