Is Furano Lavender Bloom happening right now?

Every summer Furano and nearby Biei in central Hokkaido produce large commercial lavender fields and mixed flower hillsides.
The cultivated lavender fields form broad swaths of purple, attracting photographers and visitors from late June through early August when different varieties come into flower.
