The Farasan gazelle is the locally endemic form of mountain/Arabian gazelle that persists on Farasan Al Kabir (the main Farasan Island).
This population is resident year-round (not a long-distance migrant).
It represents the largest wild concentration of this taxon in Saudi Arabia and is a conservation priority within the Farasan Islands Protected Area.
