Is False Bay bioluminescent red tide happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~October. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Dense coastal blooms of bioluminescent dinoflagellates (commonly Noctiluca scintillans) that tint False Bay water brown or red by day and produce an electric-blue, wave-driven glow at night when the water is calm and disturbed.

Events are episodic and highly weather-dependent, often visible from shoreline beaches without a boat.
