Is Falmouth Bay Sea Sparkle happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~July. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Periodic blooms of bioluminescent plankton (commonly Noctiluca scintillans and other dinoflagellates) cause the sea around Falmouth Bay to glow when disturbed.

The displays are weather- and tide-dependent, visible as blue-green sparkles or streaks along shorelines and in boat wakes.
