Is Derawan green turtle nesting happening right now?

As of today, peak season now, through ~August 31. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

The Derawan Archipelago (Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, Indonesia) hosts one of Southeast Asia's largest green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) nesting populations.

Females come ashore at night to lay clutches of eggs on several small islands; nesting occurs year-round with a pronounced seasonal peak in the middle of the year.
