Is Cross River Gorilla (montane forest viewing) happening right now?

As of today, in season now. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

The Cross River gorilla (Gorilla gorilla diehli) is a Critically Endangered western gorilla, with fewer than about 300 left, scattered across forest blocks on the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

None of these gorillas are habituated to people, and they are deliberately left that way to protect them from poaching and disease, so a direct sighting is extremely unlikely.

Their presence is confirmed mainly through nests, tracks, and camera-trap footage.

A visit here is about walking the forest they live in and supporting their protection, not a guaranteed wildlife encounter.
