Is Comanche Grassland Tarantula Walkabout happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~August. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Each fall mature male tarantulas (genus Aphonopelma, commonly A. hentzi/Colorado brown) leave their burrows and roam the Comanche National Grassland near La Junta, Colorado, searching for mates.

The event is seasonal and best observed around dusk during warm, calm nights in September and October.
