As of today, out of season, returns ~October. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
Located off the western coast of Chiloé Island, the Islotes de Puñihuil Natural Monument is the only known shared breeding site for Humboldt and Magellanic penguins.
This unique colony is situated on three islets approximately 28 kilometers southwest of Ancud, Chile.
The area is also home to other species such as the red-legged cormorant, kelp gull, and marine otters.
The islets were declared a national monument in 1999 to protect this unique ecosystem. ([en.wikipedia.org](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islotes_de_Pu%C3%B1ihuil_Natural_Monument?utm_source=openai)).
