As of today, in season, building toward peak (~July 1). Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
Living root bridges are hand-trained aerial roots of rubber-fig trees (Ficus spp.) woven across streams by Khasi communities near Cherrapunji (Sohra), Meghalaya.
The bridges exist year-round, but the monsoon (heavy rains and swollen rivers) is when waterfalls, river flows, and surrounding rainforest are most dramatic for viewing and photography.
