Each spring the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch display large-scale plantings of cultivated ranunculus (Persian buttercup).
The commercial fields produce dense, multicolored rows of blooms across roughly 50 acres, drawing photographers and visitors for a roughly two-month season.
