Is Burren Wildflower Bloom (limestone pavement) happening right now?

As of Jun 19, 2026, 8:54 PM, past peak, season runs to ~July 31. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

The Burren wildflower bloom is a region-wide display of hundreds of calcareous-grassland and limestone-pavement species, including spring gentian, mountain avens, hoary rockrose and many orchids.

Flowers emerge from early spring into midsummer where traditional grazing and the karst terrain create pockets of species-rich turf uncommon elsewhere in Europe.
