The Burren wildflower bloom is a region-wide display of hundreds of calcareous-grassland and limestone-pavement species, including spring gentian, mountain avens, hoary rockrose and many orchids.
Flowers emerge from early spring into midsummer where traditional grazing and the karst terrain create pockets of species-rich turf uncommon elsewhere in Europe.
