As of today, in season, building toward peak (~June 25). Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
Each summer, Delphinapterus leucas (beluga whales) concentrate in the shallow, brackish waters of the Churchill River estuary to feed, socialize, and molt.
The aggregation is one of the most accessible large beluga gatherings in the world, allowing reliable daytime viewing from shore and on guided boat tours.
