As of today, out of season, returns ~November. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
Each year the montane forests of the Bamenda Highlands (Kilum-Ijim, Bali-Ngemba and neighbouring fragments) show a strong seasonal pulse in bird activity.
During the dry season many species enter their breeding period and become more vocal and conspicuous, and mixed-species foraging flocks and territory-holding aggregations are easier to locate.
The area is the last stronghold for several range-restricted endemics including Bannerman's Turaco and the Banded Wattle-eye.
