As of today, next: January 26, 2028. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
On 26 January 2028 an annular solar eclipse, a bright "ring of fire," crosses southern Ecuador, Peru, and northern Brazil before reaching the Atlantic and ending near sunset over Spain and Portugal.
In Ecuador the ring is visible from the south, around Loja; Quito to the north sees only a partial eclipse.
Safe solar filters are required throughout, since annular eclipses are never safe to view directly.
