Is Altai Golden Mountains Autumn Larch Colors happening right now?

As of today, out of season, returns ~September. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.

Each autumn the Siberian larch (Larix sibirica) stands and treelines across the Golden Mountains of Altai turn brilliant gold before shedding needles.

The display occurs over a 4–6 week window that shifts by elevation and year, producing mirror reflections on lakes and dramatic golden bands on valley flanks.
