Each spring tens to hundreds of thousands of snow geese stage on the Copper River Delta near Cordova before making a rapid northward migration.
On favorable days the birds take off in synchronized, thunderous waves called a blastoff, a dramatic wildlife spectacle driven by wind, daylight and weather front timing.
