As of today, out of season, returns ~September. Earth Exhibit tracks the live conditions and flags it the moment it is on.
The Ajloun highlands of northern Jordan host one of the country’s largest remaining Mediterranean woodlands.
While the reserve is dominated by evergreen kermes/palestine oak (Quercus calliprinos / Q. coccifera), pockets of deciduous oaks (Quercus ithaburensis and related taxa), riparian trees and understory shrubs produce a noticeable autumn palette.
Timing varies with elevation and rainfall, producing the best mixed fall tones from mid-October into November.
